I haven't seen one, but I'll bet you could have one built for not too much. I plan on having one made for my truck to fit under my rolltop cover box and in front of my tool box.

I don't know if you are talking about two separate things or not but they do make a combo tank. It has the tool box on top with the fuel tank underneath it. I saw the shop putting one on a power-poke a couple of weeks ago.

Aux Fuel Tank Reply

I installed an auxillary fuel tank, installed mostly under the toolbox, but had a narrow uprise just in front of the toolbox for easy access during fueling up. Under the toolbox it's as wide as the toolbox and is flush with the rear edge of toolbox. Just in front of the toolbox it's appx 3 to 4 inches wide and extends slightly higher than the toolbox. You can get it powder coated if you want a glossy black color to match a black toolbox etc. . Otherwise it will be shiny aluminum. The one I went with, I special ordered from Auxillary Truck Accessories. They have a 100 gallon model, but it would extend underneath and past the toolbox. I wanted the aux tank to be flush with the toolbox. They offered to do this for no extra cost, and it did reduce the capacity some, basing it from a 100 gal model. Also I wanted the narrow part in front of the toolbox as narrow as possible. Ended up with close to 80 gallon aux tank. I didnt care for the cheap filter they offered, and chose to use a Fleetguard fuel water separator in place of the one that came with the kit. 3 parts required for this, the fs1212 filter the filter head and mounting bracket and a couple fittings for the hose. There are a few drawbacks to this kit though. The fuel quantity reads out on your normal gage, the switch selection determines which tank the factory gage reads out on. This is not the issue though, The unit inside the tank the float etc. . is designed for a tank of consistent width, since this type tank is narrow near the top and fat at the bottom the gage will quickly lower until you reach appx 1/4 of a tank, when the fuel level is then at the fat area of the tank, then it takes a lot of miles for it to lower more on the gage. You may have to make a cheat sheet to be able to determine how many gallons appx are remaining. Also, I am concerned about steep inclines as the fuel pickup tube is in the front of the tank, when you get down to appx 1/8 of a tank and go up an incline the fuel will collect on the opposite rear side of the tank, and hopefully the little fuel trap etc. . holds fuel so your diesel wont quit. I had a look at this trap prior to installing and it doesnt look all that well designed. If it does, run out now you have a problem. So, it looks to me like you will go many miles between 1/4 to 1/8 of a tank, but when you reach that 1/8 then it may be a concern about climbing a steep incline. And 1/8 of a tank holds a considerable 24 gal or so, in this configuration. This means appx 56 gallons of usable tank before worrying about filling it up again. Hope my 2 cents worth helps.
