What is the Aux spring ( camper package ) ratings ???

I called dealer and " I can give you the part number "

Called 2 spring shops and got 1500 I think and 2000 I think.

I want to increase load by approx 1000# and want to keep truck level. With present load it is level and I do not want headlights to be searchin the skys for UFO's with additional weight.

What about those airbags? I think they'll increase it to 5000#'s, that 'otta getcha where ya wana be. Just a thought.

All the air bags I have seen require the removal of the Aux springs. I really do not want that. Thanks,

The best info I can find in the 2001 Sales Consultant Product Guide I scammed is that the rear spring capacity for a 2500 is 6200 lbs. total and for a 3500 is 7500 lbs. total. That would lead me to believe that the auxiliary springs were worth about 1300 lbs. (or 650 per side) since they are standard on 3500's. It doesn't give enough info to confirm that for sure. That at least tells you the difference if you upgraded to the total 3500 suspension. Wish I could help more.

Airbags and helper springs

Guys:

I kept my helper springs on with my Airlift airbags. Instructions even indicate you can do this. The ride is fine as well. I wanted the added security.

I've seen folks post they weren't happy with the ride, but I like it. I also like riding level pulling my 15K lb 5th wheel.

Thanks

I'll look into the Air Lift air bags. I could also plumb them through leveling valves for auto level control.

They would also necessitate the installation of air horns. :D :D :D

I just put the Roadmaster Active Suspension (MK II XXDF) on my truck. ActiveSuspension has the info. They work extremely well, and really smooth out the ride and level the truck under heavy load. Very easy install (less than an hour), and at about $250 well worth the price.

Looked at roadmaster, I don't think so.

drove a loaded Ram w/ Air lift. ride seemed a litle spongy, less stable than hard springs.
