I am in need of a new thermal switch for the aux trans cooler under the bed. MY original had two pins and the dealer has tried 3 times and still can not get the correct one. Does anybody have a part # for this. Thanks!!:)

Trans cooler sensor

After going to 3 different dealers that told me it wasn't a factory part, I finally convinced the last one it was. The parts man finally got a number through Chrysler archives. The number is... 04740448,description just says switch. You better see if this will cross reference at a parts house. DC price was $120 as I recall. If you find a substitute please post the source and part number.

Just went to Radio Shack and bought a $6 relay, mounted a nice lighted switch on the dash. I will just turn it on as needed myself.

Thermal Switch.

Taking the thermal switch out and using a relay and manual switch is the best way. I don't like the idea of having to wait for a switch to activate when watching my trans temperature go high.

I use mine constantly, even when not hauling my camper. I have just gotten in the habit of turning it on when I start up.

I havent done it yet but am planning on trying to find a thermal switch that will fit where the stock one is that comes on about 10 degrees cooler, mine doesn't come on much but I don't trust myself to always remember to turn the fan on, it would be nice if it was automatic.
