When I plug in my cell phone charger to the auxiliary power plug I get inteference on the radio pretty bad (especially distant AM stations). but when I plug the charger into the cigarette lighter, the inteference goes away.

this doesn't seem to occur when the Cb is plugged in to either?

I know the cigarette lighter connection is ignition switched and the auxiliary power plug is always hot. Is the ignition switch filtering the cell phone charger noise and the direct connection is not?

Please explain, Thanks!!!!

It might be related to where the phone itself is sitting in relation to the radio. I've noticed that mine will make some radio interference no matter which socket I use, but I can reduce the noise by laying the phone down by the transfer case shift lever rather than putting it in the cubbyhole in front of the shifter. It might vary from phone to phone, but in my case it appears that the phone itself is giving off the noise as stray RF.

Humm... ... ... ... ... now there is a thought! :D

I do have one of those handy dandy stick on mounts right next to cubbyhole, where I keep the phone.

Found that keeping the phone antenna up helps minimize dropped calls (miss the old analog bag phone with an external antenna :( ), and using the speaker option or earpiece beats rubberbanding it to my head

Will have to check that possibility out, Thanks!!!!!

When I hold my NEXTEL close to the radio and some times when it is just in the truck and I key it up, the radio emits a "clicking" sound. Does the same with the 2-ways radios at work too. Must have something to do with the proximity and strength of signal?

Take that same nextel and hold it near a plain old alarm clock radio or any radio in the off position. better yet point your 2 way at work at a GFI and que it up. They make great GFI testers :-laf
