I have a little 50 gallon ATTA tank that uses a pump mounted to the frame, sucks the fuel out from the top via a sending unit. It goes into the OEM filler neck or the vent line. I think all the new kits use the vent line now.
If I ever buy another set up it will be the RDS 60 gallon or some other gravity transfer system. But I always will get a transfer tank and auxiliary tank comb. That way I have the ability to use a fill rite pump for my tractor. I notice the so called auxiliary bed tanks don't have the right side bung for the transfer pump. But then I realized you can just get a "transfer" tank and add the gravity feed kit.
Better setup anyway, less crap to go wrong and no pump to mount underneath. I would put a valve inline with the aux tank gravity feed hose though, electric solenoid type connected to an ignition power source. That way it only feeds when the truck is running.
I use mine mostly for towing, with a 5th wheel hooked up I can keep running for at least 800 miles before needing fuel. I don't enjoy stopping for fuel with the trailer on. I find the 50 gallon is adequate for most of my trips. Longest one day run I've done was 700 miles, still had fuel in the main.
