Available differential ratios?

My truck spends the bulk of it's time on the highway either empty (or close to it) or pulling a light (~3000lb) trailer. I have the 3. 73 diffs, but would like to get down to the neighborhood of 3. 08 to lower my revs at 75mph from 2100 down to around 1700.



I have done some brief searching and can't seem to find any gear sets taller than 3. 54. Do they exist or am I searching in vain?

That's what I was afraid of... going to a 3. 54 only knocks about 100 rpm off so that's not even worth the trouble... .

I asked a little mom and pop store near me about them and he said that he could get ratios from the low threes up to the fives...



I will check again, but that's what he told me... this was about 2 months ago...

Here's the easy (but some might say costly) way to reduce the ratio: get Rickson 19. 5 wheels and 265 70 19. 5 tires. Check out http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html and it will give you all the info you need.
