Just received my II Silver64 and ATS manifold. Planning on doing the swap tomorrow morning but have a family thing later that afternoon that I have to attend. I pretty much know all the tips and tricks recommended here, but if you know of any others, thow em' out there...

Thanks... :D

Take your time!

Give yourself a window of 6-8 hours.

I have read so many posts about people bragging how it only took 2 hours then 30 days later they are popping boots off and nuts and bolts are falling off!:-laf

I've got a tip

No doubt you are bolting the manifold and turbo together before installing... . before you actually do that, make sure your manifold lines up right by starting two bolts, one in each half of the manifold. It only takes being a hair off and it won't go, in which case you whack it with a block of wood and good size hammer. When they are bolted together it's pretty honkin' heavy, that's not the time you want to find out that it's not quite lined up! HTH

If you need the truck to get to the familly thing then i might wait to do it. Usually thats when stuff goes wrong, when it's just got to be done if you know what i mean.

Better do it tonight if you have plans tomorrow after noon. If you'r going from stock turbo you may need a little time to figure out the plumming.

My wife has a car we will use and we don't have to leave until 5pm. But it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow and inorder to do the install my truck will have to be half in/half out of my garage. So I really want to make sure it's complete because I can't leave with my truck/garage like that... :-laf not in this city anyway. I also have to install Banks intercooler and stuff. Gonna be a fun day.

Ive done them in about 2hrs start to finish but also had them take all day! Give yourself some time and make sure you do it right the first time!
