Ken,

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Assuming you have the appropriate skills and experience, would you consider looking at something in the oil & gas industry? If so, drop me an e-mail or PM.

Rusty

Sorry to hear that ken

Here in Boeing land things are not that peachy either.

Alot of us small business owners are in the same boat

Things will get better I've been in this business for 24 years.

I know how you feel bud!! Keep your chin up!!

I have been outa work for over 3 months now and just took a job Tuesday as an electrician. Low pay and the benefits suck! But it's work.

I tell you what's funny or not so funny. Wednesday I recieved job offers from 3 different companies and went for a final interview at one this morning.

Why do ya get job offers only after you take a job somewhere else? Where were these guys at when I needed them 3 months ago?:(

Ken,

Sorry to here this :( Especially, when recent (pre 9-11-01) predictions for the aviation industry have forecasted a shortage of 15,000 qualified technicians and engineers (I do not recall the number for these) during the next 10 years.

I don’t know if your interested, but you may want to look at our job openings at Sikorsky Aircraft Jobs and UTC Careers. We have been on the up swing for about a year now.

Good Luck :D

Thanks guys. The encouragement means alot to me. I'll keep you posted. The severance package was pretty good, so I'm OK for a while. I'm going camping for a few days next week, and then a two day seminar on how to get a new job on Thursday and Friday next week.

BigDaddy: I really want to stay in the Denver area. I've been here too long to move now. My dear departed employer has a facility in Hartford, and used to work on Sikorski's before we were purchased by Bombardier. Now it's just Canadair and Learjets.

Ken,

In Hartford, our products are mostly at the corporate hangars or Signature Aviation these days. My friend and neighbor is a captian for FlexJet and I also have some PAMA brothers at the LearJet hangar. We are a tight bunch in the aviation community

Enjoy the camping:D

I had this t-shirt in my drawer at work. It just seems fitting now.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hope you can become employed soon. Looking for a job is the worst job there is. Good Luck with your interviews.

Sorry to hear that klenger. That bites!

Friday, thousands (approximately ten thousand to be more precise) of 60 day WARN notices were handed out to Being employees here in the Puget Sound area. Fortunately I was not one of those unfortunate individuals, but I feel for them just the same. To add insult to injury, the last day of the WARNed employees is December 14th! Have a merry Christmas indeed!

klenger, I wish you and all the others that have been affected by layoffs recently the very best of luck, especially those in the airline and aerospace segments, who just recently lost their jobs or will be losing them shortly due to acts of terrorism.

 hell!. . try livid!

Thanks for the encouragement guys. The TDR will be safe as I'm off to the Sand Dunes National Monument in sourthern Colorado for a few days. I've never been there, and it'll give me a chance to see how the truck and 5er perform on a somewhat longer trip. When I get back, I'll be attending a two day seminar on getting a new job.
