A/C refrigerant guys in here...

I made the list!!!!!!

What I've read about the situation in Mexico is the drug cartels outgun or at least match the local police and army. They have full auto weapons, machine guns, and larger ordinance. None of these weapons was covered in Clinton's "Assault Weapons Ban. " If any member of the drug forces were to show up carrying a Mini-14, or M1A, he would be laughed out of the organization and probably shot for trying to embarrass the others.

The drug lords have lots of money. When they can afford to buy planes and cigar boats just to carry drugs across the border, and ditch or sacrifice the vehicle when they think it's required, they can afford to buy what ever weapons they want in the world wide weapons black market.

I think the reports of what is going on in Mexico are distorted to justify what ever the powers-that-be want to do. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

Dave, You are right on! The Chinese and North Koreans are probably the worst offenders in the Arms game. They have no qualms about sending over a boatload of weaponry. The Chinese tried to off load a bunch of real AK's in California, some years back.

However, that is not the only focus in the new version of the AWB. Now, ANY firearm with a removable magazine, plus Pump action, Semi-auto shotguns and rifles are targeted. GregH

GH, you are correct the new proposed version of the AWB is "enhanced. " But the original AWB and the new proposal have something in common: none of the covered weapons are pertinent to the conflict south of our border. The whole argument is a sham and any connection is imaginary. When you contact your Congresscritter and he/she/it responds saying the AWB is needed to combat the narco-warfare in Mexico and it will not impact honest, law abiding citizens of the United States, ask for some statistics to support that contention. I'll bet you never get any, or if you do the numbers are imaginary supplied by the Violence Policy Center.

I am a stanch Constitutional Libertarian and have spent much time working within our state group georgiacarry.org and the sister site with forum georgiapacking.org on the restoration of our firearm rights.

Regarding AWB II and those who would take your rights away, there are politicians at the local, state and federal level that in a heartbeat would take these rights away and this has been proven many times.

What was surprising to me was the signed document that was sent to our gun grabbing Attorney General Eric Holder last week, you would think it would be only from the GOP but it was in fact from many Democratic politicians.

You may view it here:

http://www.nraila.org/media/PDFs/AWBLettertoHolder309.pdf

Please take the time to call, email and/or write to thank each of them for their assistance because getting up and doing something about the problem is the only way to make it go away.

Remember this... your rights have been and will continue to be whittled away by those who would make you their subjects, never lay quiet and let an opportunity to fight pass you by because this is the only way you will keep and retain what has been lost.

That was a good interesting letter sent to Holder. I noticed there was not a single Republican signature on it. Did the Democrats not give any Republicans the opportunity to sign, or did the Republicans refuse to sign because it wasn't their idea? Some other reason? I wish I knew.

I also noticed there were no signatures from my state of Washington.

I'm going to bet neither was the reason. It was probably a Blue Dog Coalition letter. Since Repubs generally are pro 2A, only the Pro 2A Blue Dog Dems needed to send a message to the AG that THEY would not vote for an AWB. It also served to send a shot across the Dem Left's bow that they (Blue Dogs) would not be cowed. It basically preempts any attempt of Pelosi et al of doing so. They went in united BEFORE it came up as an issue on the floor.

Bingo... ... and you hit the nail on the head with that one.

An excerpt from Who Is Arming the Mexican Drug Cartels? by Michael Gaddy

The state, Mexican authorities and their US propaganda arm, known in most circles as the Mainstream Media, have recently embarked on a huge disinformation campaign to demonize the American gun owner as the supplier of weapons to the Mexican drug cartels. Everyone in the media, with the possible exception of Lou Dobbs, has joined in the campaign of lies.

Shown here, on a CBS special, is video proof of the lies and disinformation by CBS, US and Mexican authorities. Anderson Cooper and Janet Napolitano are either ignorant or complicit in the myth that M-203s, RPGs and hand grenades are readily available to the American gun consumer. Most intelligent folks, and those without a state sponsored agenda, realize these weapons are usually only available to the military.

This week, Secretary of Homeland Defense, Janet Napolitano, announced a new plan to curb the alleged flow of weapons from the US into Mexico. This program, which will cost the overwhelmed US Taxpayer another 700 million dollars plus, includes machines that employ what is referred to as "virtual strip search. " This plan will supposedly slow down the number of guns traveling south from the US to the drug cartels in Mexico. If this program has the same success rate as the government’s efforts at stopping the flow of contraband north into the US, the Mexican drug cartels will have nuclear weapons by the end of April!

While not stated as such, I am sure this will eventually morph into "the war on guns. " Funny, is it not, every time our government "declares war" on something, it always increases exponentially! Whether it is poverty, drugs, terrorism or guns, when the state declares war, rapid growth and expansion of that which is the object of that war is inevitable.

Napolitano stated, "70% of the weapons in the hands of the drug cartels are coming from the US. " The implication is obvious she is referring to private gun owners. The MSM sucks up this propaganda like a large-mouth bass takes a worm, and regurgitates it to Boobus without ever questioning the truthfulness behind the claim. Neither Mexican, nor US officials, has ever produced an ounce of proof to back up these wild accusations.

Maybe this should be in the Political Forum, but when the government propaganda blames US gunowners for RPGs in the hands of Mexican drug cartels, it affects all of us.

Obama's Executive Branch and his department heads will continue to move their agenda of socialism and gun control forward, they will take something like the problem on the border and manipulate it to serve their agenda every single time, they have the media in their pocket and other organizations to back their socialist agenda.

Time for everyone to stand up and make yourself heard as sitting will most assuredly allow your rights to be taken away.

Reminder to everyone, for every one Patriot that stands up voices his or her opinion, calls and emails their politicians there are roughly 100,000 people that do nothing to assist in keeping the rights our Founding Fathers died for.

In the end we will all be judged for what we stood for and I am praying that many people finally wake up and decide to make a difference.

I'd bet that they (the signing dem's) did this on there own to show Eric Holder that they are not in support of an AWB. I'm sure most of the signers are worried about keeping their jobs in future elections.
