Camper tie down?

I keep seeing this AWESOME looking 5th wheel camper in my neighborhood. It has a second riser that goes up over the top of the truck cab, so from the side it has a double step, 1 to go over the box abd a second over the cab. It is very aerodynamic looking.

I am not a camper yet, but I do loke the looks of this thing. The name on the side is TITANIUM. I thing it said glendale RV or Glenwood. . Something like that

Now you did it, Now my Wife is mad. "Whats wrong with the camper we have now"? she says

these are really nice looking. Next step is nada guides to see how well they hold there value, then maybe look for a dealer just to check them out.

Really my wife is right, Our 2000 Terry really is a nice camper, and I have already set it up the way I want it.

I have seen these too and have an RV dealer near the house that handles them. A few years ago another company, Award, made a unit that was more aerodynamic and space efficient, but they didn't stay in business too long. I hope Titanium does better than they did. In the mean time, I will stick with my Travel Supreme. As much as we like what we have, we still enjoy looking and "kicking the tires", but so far no other floor plans have tempted us. I would like to talk with a Titanium owner to see what effect the design has on air drag.

Re: titanium trailer

I Imagen you might get a mile or 2 more per gallon, not enough to worry about.

I like the idea of towing a 28' 5th wheel that has 32' of living space, because of the extra overhang in the front.

I was looking at the specs of one, it said it had 6000 lb axles, but its gross was only 11K something. I thought RV builders always put under size axles on them ;)

I see at one year old they have a resale of around $27K in mint condition, wonder what they cost new? The inside "looks" good but close inspection may tell different.

Did you notice there is no range hood vent? Its built into the base of the microwave.

wonder how strong the overhang is with 2 shelfs like that.

Another nice thing is you can have a full size bed (I am 6' tall) without a front slide.

The 32E37DS is the unit that we are intending to purchase. In reference to the price it is not the high end of the market nor is it the low end but you get a good bang for the buck. I believe they came out with these models in 2000 and there is some NADA listings.

The comments that I have heard are yes there is a small fuel savings but that depends on how heavy your foot is. One other nice feature with the shape is a reduction of barn door effect in wind, which does translate to less surging.

My wifes concern was with storage in the bedroom, (you know the shoe collection ;) ) With no slide out in the bedroom it keeps the pin weight down and should be less than the 2400 #'s we have available.

I also like some of the options i. e. 7000 # axles.

I have one!

I've got an '03 29E34MS setting in my yard. The bummer is I think I have to sell it!! My wife unexpectedly got accepted into med school and it's a 2 1/2 yr. program... . no camping for awhile. I can't see letting it set for that long and not use it, I don't think I have much choice. The only use it got was pulling it home. It does pull very nice, got 13. 5 mpg with my '99 6spd 4X4, driving about 65 mph. I did a ton of research on rigs of all kinds before I made the move. Glendale has an excellent reputation and the Titanium is very well built. Oh well... .

Very nice!

The 28E33SB has a floor plan very similar to my TT, only I like the split bath, mine dont have that. Mine aint a 5'er either.

I have a 2003 28E33SB towed with a 98 2dr excb 12V 2500 w/auto. My neighbor has a 2002 same model towed with a 94 Ford diesel. His truck is a short bed so he didn't need a sliding hitch because of the design.

Towing is great & especially notice less drag into a head wind. Parking is easy for a 33 ft with a 28ft length to the hitch.

My trailer shipped at 8050lbs. Quality is very good. Built in Canada. Insulated for winter use. Much better than my old Sierra. Taking mine to the coast next week.

If you like "kicking the tires", have you been the Lazy Days in Florida? Man do they every have alot of stuff there! :--) That place is HUGE! My grandpa took me there when we were down there in Jan. Also stopped in at Camping World next door.

We have one that is similar to the Titanium that is on that website. Ours is a Kustom Koach and it is made by Travelaire in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. TravelAire is part of Glendale RV which makes Titanium. Confusing? There are quite a few differences in Kustom Koach and Titanium. Kustom Koach is wood frame structure and Titanium is aluminum frame. Kustom Koach uses different style of frame construction also.

Yeah, they do pull easier but it is hard to make any fuel saving comparsions.

The real saving is in the cost of the unit! Buy in Canada and bring it home with no duty or tax thanks to trade agreements with Canada. You save quite a bit on currency exchange also.

Some small issues with ours, but all very easy to fix. They have full warranty anywhere you want to have it fixed in the US. Titanium will not permit their dealers in Canada to sell to Americans in order to protect their US dealers. Titaniums can be expensive if you don''t do your homework. So far Kustom Koach by TravelAire has put no restrictions on their Canadian dealers about selling across the border. E-mail if anyone needs more info...
