If you're looking for end play between the nut and bearing after backing off 1/8 to 1/3 turns, forget it! the end play will be present but if you're trying to put a feeler guage between, you won't be able. The end play will be inheirent and you will just have to accept it. By following this proceedure, you will not over tighten or under tighten your bearing. Torque to 140 pounds and feel the resistance of hub spin, now back it off 1/8 turn, if you don't like it, back it off a full 1/3 turn. The bearing will seat and you will be fine. Never mind trying to use a feeler guage, after you drop the truck and drive out of the driveway, you will have your endplay.
