CHanging my front and rear diff's to AMsoil series 2000 75w90 and was going to suck the old fluid out as I'm going to Maghytecs but not untill the spring, but I'm over due for the fluid change. I was wondering if the Amsoil will damage the RTV that is from the factory. It looks like it is the greyish color RTV not the red/orange that is in a TSB about the RTV. Anyone know if it will damage the RTV or make it leak in the next several months?

Thanks and happy holidays.

I changed over to the Amsoil 140wt. the first time I serviced my axle. I used the grey RTV when I reinstalled the cover and have had no leaks in over 70k miles. I drilled the cover and installed a drain plug so I can service the axle without pulling the cover off. I drain & refill every 25k miles. Hope this helps.

You won't get an leakage with the Amsoil unless it is already leaking, the Grey RTV is awesome.

If you are going to drain and refill in the spring I would just let it slide or dump in some generic dino gear oil. If you suction it out there will be a lot of the old stuff left.
