Competition Axle breakage

Where are the people breaking the D80 axles at?? At the differential, midway, or out at the flange??

Spider gears.

Yoke.

At the axle spline.

Rotate center section on axle tubes.

Ring gear.

ever tear up the carrier splines when the axles broke? Did you have bad luck with mosiers??

I saw a set that was twisted off about 6 inches from the splines on saturday at Gordyville. RIght next to that was another truck that took all the teeth off the ring gear. You DO NOT WANT moser axle shafts for the d80 they built many sets for HMR in fairmount and they failed so consistantly that even street class trucks were twisting them off at the splines. That is why SCS is now making billet axles and mini spools with hub driver plates for EEP. HMR is getting them somewhere else, but basicly the same concept.
