My business partner just called and told it looks like he shreaded his rear axle. Not sure what the mechanic told him but sounded like the ring pinion and all seals and bearings need replaced. Quoted $3500. I told him that is damb high and we should be able to pick up a used or even new axle for that price. I will post more info as i figure it out but its a Dana 70 and i assume a 3. 54 ratio but i will check. Do you all think i can install a 70 or 80 in this. This is a 2001 axle with disk brakes, can i get one that is not set up for disk, and convert. What problems do you all see so far?

Thanks

CH

If it is a 2001 axle with 70 Dana it is 3. 54 or 4. 10 rear. It would be better to find axle with disc you would be looking for 2001. 5 rear/axle set up.

Check out the conversion forum you should be able to find a thread by using the search mode.
