Anyone know where I can look to cross reference this to see if it's right? I got it from Autozone today and was wondering if it was right

Bearseal

455086 Rear wheel Seal

It's in Timken packaging.

If you still have the old seal, clean it and look it over carefully. You may have have to use something to magnify it, but the number of the seal and possibly the manufactures name will be on it.

More than likey the original seal will be a Timken, Chicago Rawhide or National.

If it's not the same manufacturer as the your new seal, NAPA stores have a good cross reference guide.

SHobbs,

The number on the one I just bought from dc, for way too many $$, was CR 47507. From what I understand the '98's and '99's use a seal with a lip around the outside edge limiting the insertion distance but will work on other years too and vica versa. Hope this helps. ph :)

I was just curious to see. What I got here is a steel ring (aluminum maybe) the outside edge is red with the seal around the inner circle and looks to about 3 in. across in the middle and about 1/2in. thick

Thats the national seal i picked up for my 2000 same number #455086 now the seal thats in it has CR540790 or last 3 digits were 970 i was covered in greas oil, and couldn't right it down but the first 3 digits are correct and i searched CR's website and that seal doesn't exist by entering the last 3 digits either way... could been replaced with another seal # by now.

NAPA's website crosses it over to a National number 30033 .
