Axle Lube

I NEED TO FIND A SOURCE LOCALY FOR SYNTHETIC AXLE LUBE IE SHELL MOBIL KENDAL VALVOLINE? AND WOULD LIKE TO USE SYNTHETIC IN THE TRANSFER CASE ALSO. THIS IS FOR A 96 4X4 LOCATED IN NORTHERN ILL.

You can get Mobil or Valvoline synthetics at just about any parts store. The transfer case is supposed to be filled with ATF, although some guys are filling it with 5w-30 synthetic motor oil. Amsoil makes the only chrysler ATF+3 type synthetic that I know of. Hope this helps.

I use the Mobile 1 gear oil in the rear and Mobile 1 ATF in the transfer case. As far as I can tell, +3 ATF is NOT required for the transfer case.
