Not all of us have the option of taller tires. I went to AAM's page and sure enough, they list a 3. 54 for the 11. 50 axle. I sent an email asking AAM where I can buy this gear set. I will let you know how they respond. That said, the more they here from us, the more likely they are to build what we want/need.

I too wish for a taller gear set. We just got back froma 1000 miles trip and I held it under 2000 RPM most of the time and managed to squeak out 22 MPG empty on the way back. Sure would be nice to be at 75MPH at that same RPM.

I've made several polls trying to gauge the interest on this and all have fallen flat. If there are numbers of us who want gears then someone will cut us 100 custom units I have to think. I'm not sure if the price would be worth while though.

So I got a reply back from AAM. They say there will be a 3. 42, but they did not say when for sure. According to the email I received the 3. 54 that is listed is not for our axle. Here's a copy of the email reply I got from them

Jay,

Currently there are only two ratio that fits into your Dodge 3:73 and the 4:10. The 3:42 is being developed. I am not sure if it will be in for the 2007 or 2008 model.

I hear many comments about the ratios that available and that many wants lower ratio for fuel savings.

even if you're at a lower RPM, it's going to require the same amount of power to push against the wind... you'll be running more boost, and I doubt MPG will go up that much...

i hear what you are saying, but on the highway if i could stay under 2000 rpm i could consistently get 20+ mpg. there is enough torque on the bottem end i don't think around town mpg would suffer all that much.

Good Day We just got a 06 dodge and we had to get the 4:10 put in at the dealer and for pulling it is nice but for just cruising it sucks it is to high for playing but if you have to pull heavy it is nice. thats is my two cents

I was told by a differential shop that they have gears better (numerically lower) than even the dana 3. 55s... in fact, I'm going to get the numbers off the diff tags today and order them next week... I'm skipping even the 3. 73s since they are so close to my 4. 10s I don't think it would be worth the time swapping.

Someone said before that 3. 42s were offered.
