This is definately interesting for shadetree types like myself. And thanks from me too!

I thought about the tire diameter also and came to the conclusion that, we're not concerned about total tire diameter. Just the loaded radius which is about 15" from hub to pavement on a set of 265/75 R16s or my 265/70 R17s with the same overall diameter, just a bigger rim size. So the radius is pretty close to 12" from center and if my thinking is right, we should be fairly close on the numbers. ??

I stand corrected on my assumption that the inertia type dyno works like a water brake dyno (basically a torque converter mounted solid with the stator being the drum) that uses resistance to measure torque output at various speed. Handy for tuning and troubleshooting an engine under load.

So from now on using my newfound knowledge, I'll just multiply flywheel torque by gear ratio and devide by loaded tire radius (1. 2') and be happy that I might be fairly close to rear wheel torque. :cool:
