Hello: I will be replacing my rear brake shoes on my 96 3500 ram slt laramie

dwdrv dulley 5 spd. any one know what size socket is used to brake the jam nut loose

at the axle hub I know its got to be bigger then 2"1/4 socket , and thats

the biggest i have now, you:-laf can never have too meny tools Ha"""":D

2 9/16" socket is required. Has the rounded corners on it. Replace the nut. Do NOT reuse it. The nylon inserts are pretty much a one time use part.

Must be replacing the seals also, if pulling the hub, unless they put inboard drums on a '96. Mine are outboard. No need to pull the hub, unless replacing the seal.

Yes thats the problem the seal is seeping, and I will be replaceing the seal along with the brakes shoes ,spring kit and now also the jamb nut with the rounded ends. Thanks for the info. :D
