Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Axle swap to get disc brakes

I am thinking about getting an axle assembly from an 02 and putting it into my 98. 5. Both are dana 80 with non slip. I can get the axle for about $800. Has anyone done this and how does it work? Is it worth the money for the improvement? Any problems? Thanks.

Do a search I have written on it extensivly. I put a 02 rear end in my 96, I also switched everything to 02 hydroboost. Not a hard swap, you will need mechanical knowledge, misc tools, brakeline bender etc.
