Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Axle u-joints

I will have to change my u-joints up front soon. I was wondering what brand is the best these days. I replaced them with u-joints from car quest last time, about 6 years ago. Wasnt sure if there is somthing Better.

They need to be made in USA and greasable to attain the most life out of them.

Normally I would agree. Spicer cold forged are very good. I too like the greasable because every joint I have ever seen broken was dry. If I was rock crawling, then I would go solid. I know I will get torched for this, but I don't think it will matter what brand joint you get. We have weak Dana 44 axles with large Dana 60 joints. The axle will break before joint. Just my . 02.



I would still purchase a USA made joint, but that is for other reasons. USA ALL THE WAY!

Ran Spicer non grease-able u joints in my rock crawler that was also street driven. 60 was built by Solid Axle Industries , 35 spline shafts, arb, drive flanges etc. I ran up to 37's in this jeep that saw amateur and professional rock crawling comps. I put probably 40K + miles on that jeep, both on the street and in hard comp running 37" Goodyear MTR's filled with water to the axle line during the comps. . Those u joints were the only ones to hold up to the abuse until I replaced them in the last 1000 miles I owned the jeep with CTM's.
