Outbags USA Holsters

Still have mine so I am ahead of that game.

Mine are MIA? I do still have an inactive reserve reddish colored ID, which was issued Jan 3rd 1969 and it expired on Jan 4th 1971, after 4 years of active duty. It notes that it is not really mine and "property of the US government". And that if found drop it in a US mail box. Maybe I will do that on Jan 4th 2021 as a 50th anniversary or completing my enlistment obligation to Uncle Sam.

This just got amended to non-essential....Might need dog tags soon....

I watched Arizona Governor Doug Ducey get raked over the coals on PBS the day before they changed this. Simply put he couldn't and wouldn't say the words "essential" or give any reason, good or bad, as to why they would be. Duck and cover is all he did without answering the question at all. We now should wear masks in public per CDC: where can one shave off beards to make masks more effective? One could have made a case they are essential with this. This classification is important for the employees and business owners because IMO they can now apply for unemployment and other government relief. Sometimes politicians have to rethink things and for the better public good or as new information manages to leak out: simply act on it. They have a real hard job attempting to balance this with causing "PANIC". Bluntly we are not prepared for this. Getting supplies is getting interesting with President's Trump's shoelaces being used as floss by 3M execs because his boot is so far up their butt at this time.

So non-essential vs. government help vs. causing more PANIC.

Again all we are doing is trying to slow down the spread so that the medical won't get overwhelmed. (and can get ready for this including a possible vaccine.) With all the essential workers, no supplies available like masks, clearly slowing it down enough is all we can hope for at this time.

Theyve admitted that it is to keep YOU from spreading the virus, not to keep you safe. So if you are clean, dont worry about it.

In a week or two?

Do you mean they have given up on saving lives?

NO, What I believe that is happening, is that we are entering a very critical period for the next two weeks and the government is trying to slow down the impact of this virus. As was stated yesterday by Dr. Birx and I quote " "The next two weeks are extraordinarily important," Birx said. "This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe, and that means everybody doing the six feet distancing, washing your hands." End quote.

I also believe that the peak in the US has not even been reach yet and may come within the next two weeks. See the graphs from John Hopkins University on the world wide impact. I have attached the link: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html

This is a very trying time for all of us and most people have forgotten all of the virus and plagues that have impacted the world wide population in the past. As an example I have a very slight memory of the POLIO outbreaks in the early 50's. Our parents would not allow my older sister and I, out of the house during the summer months due to the outbreak of POLIO in the Chicago metro area.

Agree alot of us in many generations have no clue and some can't understand this is pretty serious to certain groups of people.

My dad who is in his mid 70s had scarlet fever and Polio when a child, all very serious at one point he had issues trying to walk for the first time after one or both of those.

While not on that scale these are very interesting times.

But same goes for 9/11 and all sorts of horrible things we never thought we would have to go thru, but as a country we all pulled together then and should try to do the same now.

The PPE shortage is real for the common people, I have donated all my companies stock to the local hospital, they truly did not have what they needed to do this properly. As capacity comes on line it will most likely be a blip on the radar.

The areas that have chosen not to do some really basic preparation for the people who don't have the capacity to protect them self is IMO criminal. The common healthy person appears to fare pretty well, but a common sense approach for those who are not healthy this is not something they need to be exposed too.

Your talking about some basic things here, Wash your hands, social distance, stay at home when sick, self report when I'll.

If unknowingly exposed and asymptomatic then you pass it on, can't do much with those cases, I think those are few and far between.

I had a great uncle on Mom's side that had Polio. Terrible thing. Every day I open my laptop hoping to read the "VACCINE DISCOVERED" headline.

My UPS guy is a friendly character but if he sees you through the window heading for the door, he just reaches around the corner, sets the package down and he is out! You can hear him yell..."have a nice day!" as he double times back to his truck

Yep,none of it is any good, not sure on the accuracy of this but here is where I found it.

My dad would have been 7yrs old at the peak 1952 according to this site.

https://www.healthline.com/health/worst-disease-outbreaks-history#10

Polio is a viral disease that affects the nervous system, causing paralysis. It spreads through direct contact with people who have the infection. The first major polio epidemic in the United States occurred in 1916 and reached its peak in 1952. Of the 57,628 reported cases, there were 3,145 deaths.

End: Three years later, Dr. Jonas Salk developed a vaccine. By 1962, the average number of cases dropped to 910. The CDCTrusted Source reports that the United States has been polio-free since 1979

I went to junior high school in the last 50's with a class mate that ran the bases on crutches as a result of polio.

No.

Do you have a N95 mask to go out in public with? The CDC is forced to recommend wearing masks in public "... because something is better than nothing..." Yeah homemade masks are the wrong tool for the job, but, the toolbox is empty at the moment.

No supplies to keep us safe from it, limited understanding of how it spreads, and the medical equipment to save lives is not yet ready. I only hope the Death Officer plan from past medical supplies cost cutting doesn't come into play. Thus the stay at home to try and delay the spread.

Meanwhile essential workers including National Guard members called up are taking extreme risk moving medical supplies and other stuff so we don't starve to death. Again without PPE because it's simply not available at the moment.

Not a darn thing wrong with using something from home to protect yourself and others!

Next time I go out I will be looking like this, one modification is I will have a paper towel between the sock and my nose and mouth.

Any type of cloth will suffice. I used hunderds of N95 masks in my career and have no issue using any home made item.

A place in CA did some off the cuff testing ad best as they could, the blue shop towels work pretty well.

With the right levels of PPE this is a non issue for sure.

I think the main goal needs to be, prevent the droplets from going one way or the other.

Hand to face contact is major issue with overall influenza spread.

But IMO a direct close contact situation the basic 2 ply cotton is not going to cut it. Which is why folks need to follow some of the other basics.
