Anybody out there running any one of the bomber series turbo's. If so, how do you like it, how are EGT'S, how much hp you are you running, and what other mods do you have with it. Do you think this would be a good turbo for a street driven truck that will pull at the truck pulls alot. Truck is stock now 96 3500 5 speed. I will be addiing mitchell clutch soon and would like to know what would be some good bombs to do to be competitive at pulls. Don't want to get beat by a powerstroke. Is 500 hp a good goal. My wife gave me a 7,500 dollar bombing budget for know. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks Travis

Dang I never had that much of a budget and I'm single!

You have the right combo to make 500 with a B-1, and yes if you going to run a single at the H. P. then I would chose it.

I posted a similar thread about the same turbo a couple of days ago. Seems everyone running in the low 400's uses the PDR 40, good all around turbo. I was hoping to get some info as well on the B1 as another option. My problem is EGT's with the PDR hybrid 35 compressor and 14cm WG housing. Anyone have some good ole' "been there and done that" experience with the big boy B1?

I love my wife also, the only thing she said that it had to have stacks and they better be blowing smoke. I just told her I love you. So can you guys help me make my wife happy and help me with some fuel mods to go with the B-1

Thanks Travis

No she doesn't have a sister. She is a good wife letting me spend that much on just modifiications to my truck, but I have to keep her happy and put some stacks on the truck that are blowing some smoke. But it doesn't matter I wanted a set of 5 inch stacks anyhow, just don't tell her that. Can you guys help me.

clutch/input shaft, B1, o-rings/studs on the head, have DonM extrude hone some 370's for ya, gut the AFC housing, put a #0 plate in it, and it'll make more power than you were lookin' for, and it'll pour more smoke out those stacks than your little lady had imagined! :D

you'll probably come in below that $7500 enough to buy a big ol' water/alky injection setup and a couple other bells and whistles too!

if I had $7500, I'd be lookin' for 800+hp!!!

Forrest

Thanks that will make my wife pretty happy. All those mods you just talked about, how about street manners with those. :D

street manners will be fine... it'll be a smokey ******* when you lay into it, but you can totally control the smoke w/ your right foot...

if *I* were you, I'd be lookin' at twins, but you'll have a heck of a setup w/ the B1 and some water/alky injection!!!!!

Forrest

he wants smoke pouring out the stacks... that's the only thing anyone could really call a "downside" with his combo IMHO... the thing that kills street manners is lots of timing, low compression ratio, or an ultra-slow spooling turbo... he's not anywhere near the edge on that stuff... I think street manners will be fine with what he's lookin' at doing.

Forrest

You all are sure making my wife happy. :-laf

My wife says the more smoke the better. Don't want people to think my trucks broke with alll that smoke, but then again who cares when your blowing past them. How does the whole water/meth setup work are you using methanol alcohol. Sorry for the dumb question.

ideally, a mix of water and methanol is used, but you can just use cheap windshield washer fluid. it reduces EGT a LOT, and it'll add another 50-100hp

alright, you guys have my attention. Oo. anyone have specifics on how to set up an H2O/Meth system (injection port size, mixture), website link perhaps.

55-70 and 60 is the norm... . 50/50 mix, it's one thing I can always count on! On my old set of Twins running in valet I picked up 124 HP, I haven't tried this setup in valet with water yet!
