i'm just a little curious as to what yall would do injector wise with a E E P B-1 turbo and ATS exhaust manifold,, I have comp 3S 125 hp... I would like to go a little bigger but do not want to get My EGT to high. I don't do much pulling other than my bobcat once in awhile. If I don't feel like driving the dump truck. So if she smokes a little bit thats ok I like the smoke. What would you guys do next after the turbo upgrade. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ILL be dropping her off to E E P in the next week or so ... ...

IM GOING TO PUT IT ON THE DYNO IN INDY(FEB 28TH) FOR MY FIRST TIME :D :D :D WHAT KIND OF HP/TQ I SHOULD I MAKE ???

dont want to look like a chump,on the dyno LOL :{ :D :D

You should go with Mach 4s from F1 diesel. They move a LOT of fuel, and you should be able to manage EGTs with a B1. The Mach4s are enough fuel for 500hp without twins or drugs.

Which B1? If you go with the quick spool you may want to consider the Mach 3's. I think the M4's might be a little much with towing. Also consider a wastegate with the B1 as it will spool up to 55 psi but most power might be in the 42-45psi range.

i think its a stock B-1????

I'm running comp 3's injectors now

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST DOWN PIPE I CAN PUT ON A B-1 ???4"-5" ???

thanks ... ... THE CONCRETE GUY:confused:

Theconcreteguy,

I'm currently running a QS-B1 with Mach 3 injectors from Don M. at Formula 1 Diesel. His Mach 3's are rated at 125 HP but many of the ones dynoed have produced over 140 HP. The QS-B1 has the full size exhaust housing and and a smaller compressor for quicker spoolup. I had a QS-B1B which has a smaller exhaust housing and smaller compressor for really fast spoolup. I have an external 38mm wastegate, 4" exhaust and TST PM3 Comp with an Edge EZ stacked with it and my EGT's in the 1/4 mile get to 1,800 degrees. The smoke is controllable in town and temps are controllable when not drag racing. I think the Mach 3's are all I will need for street use, except when I install my new QS-B1B-- B2 Twins. I have no information on the full size B1 except that it can support over 500 hp and is quite a bit laggier than the QS-B1 & QS-B1B. By the way, my truck is an automatic which will make any turbo seem to have more lag.

As for the exhaust there are different flanges for the B1. The standard B1 is about 4 1/2" and you must order a flange to weld to your downpipe and get a v-band clamp to fit. Now they offer a B1 with a housing that works with a standard HX-40 downpipe. I don't think there is a 5" setup on the B1.

I think it's really important to know what B1 you have and all the options offered in the B1 line to decide what you need.

Hope This Info Helps!

thanks m-evans for the info !!... ... ...

IF YALL ARE RUNING A B-1 THEN I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR WHAT YOU GOT TO SAY ,ON THIS SUBJECT... ..... IS THE FULL SIZE B-1

NOT A GOOD CHOICE

You mention in your signature that you are headed for twins soon. Do you already have a B-1?

If you are still working with your stock turbo- I think you will be shocked with a B-1. Shocked and covered in a cloud of smoke!

Why not start with a KSB-1B as a single. You can add a B-1 or a B-2 as the other half of your twins when your ready (it's a great combo) and have much better responsiveness with the KSB-1B now!

However you say you don't mind the smoke. If you don't mind the lag either, go for it..... your call.

I would think any of the B-1's and Mach 3's would put you at 425-450 HP and give you no EGT problems. Bigger than that... no idea.

Believe B-1's are all 4" downpipe.

Your running an auto with 35" tires and probably a 3. 55?, rear end. Unless you keep the rpms above 1900/2000 the Standard B-1 will have lag. It does not start to spool hard till then. A KwikSpool would be a better choice, especially with your tire size. I have tested a Standard B-1 and a QuickSpool B-1 on my Twin setup, and the truck likes the QuickSpool for daily driving better. I haven't dyno'd the QuickSpool yet so I can't give a fair HP comparison as of yet. I think the smoke and lag from the Full size B-1 will be to much after a while. Boost will not start to build till 1700 or so, then about 2k it will spool hard. Mach 3/4 EDMs will help smoke reduction and better low end power. Just my opinion but I would go for the QS Version. There are many variations of the B-1, I would call Kurt Yardley and let him help you pick the right one.

IMHO, You just got feedback from one of the most expirienced and knowledgable guys out there! It won't get any better than that.

I would take what Fred said as solid gold, plug in your own personality and decide what is best for you.

By shocked - I meant negatively. Up to you, but lots of smoke with poor response off the line is not what most of us consider enjoyable.
