~$1600. . $500 deposit.

Yes,

the turbo itself is bolt on. . less than 30 min. the downpipe is a pain because last i heard they were not available prefabed. They are supposed to be available this month sometime.

I put mine on in under 4hrs including hacing up the old pipe and building the new.

I did it my neighors shopand he welded the tubes.

You'll need the flange, a 45* mandrel bend, and a foot or so of 4" pipe.

All in all a good shadetree project.

I forgot to mention the sound of it. . AWESOME. It has the same tone as a big rig but much COOLER!!

Rob,

I called Kurt and gave him your new shipping address;);)

You DID move to Kansas, right?:-laf:-laf

ya' keep rubbin' that B-1 in my face, I still need about a month or so, then I'll order one, wished I coulda had it by Tulsa time, dangit.

Okay so isn't this thing a hybrid of like three different turbos? If so, which ones are they? I already have an HX-35 and an HX-40, so maybe I could work out a deal to use parts from these and purchase the other necessary ones to make one for less than $1600 (ouch!)

If not, I'll just keep my HX-40... it's working fine for me.

Rob

That info is proprietary and there is significant machining to make it all work.

The parts are pricey. I've been pressing kurt for info on it for a while and what he's told me I can't tell. Trust me when I say, He knows that it's expensive. He IS looking for cheaper parts sources but right now there is no other source.

I do know that it spanks the HX-40 comin' and goin' and its pretty well bulletproof.

Kat is pushin it to 13. 60s and lower and I'm getting 16+ mpg out of my hotrod and I love it. I don't worry about EGTs ever unless I'm using 5/5 on my DRAG Comp for over a half mile or so.

Yogibear is towing with it. Nobody has any complaints.

I drive all but smoke free on 4/2 or 4/3 most of the time.

It IS worth the $$$$

5/5 has a neat effect but angers the natives:rolleyes:

Mark,, You need stacks. Then you'll just lok cool shovin' smoke in the sky.

JFYI,

Until HVAC has his Premade B-1 Bomber Turbo Down Pipes ready for sale I have been building them for the customers that don't have access to a welder.

It is quite easy if you get a 4" down pipe for a Hx40 16cm and then cut 2" off the end and weld on the larger B-1 stainless flange. If you are using your stock pipe then you need a 4" elbow also.

Hope Kurt gets that B-1 built and mailed soon.

The only bad part is, when you get the new turbo you have to learn to drive it all over again. What a chore;):D I'm still learnin.

Mark,

I just pulled one of my trailers down the interstate fer the first time since the DDIII's went in. With those and the EZ ,my EGT's @ 75 mph uphill were 900 deg. , boost was 22#. Still waitin' for the PM Comp to get back, so I quess those numbers aren't to bad fer now, I'm sure I won't be usin' the comp with the trailer though, which is alright 'cause those DDIII's screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeem!Oo.
