I don't realy care for that kit. The drain hole is small,it is easy for it to loosen and leak,it is only a shot term solution in my book . You can buy a 1/2" fine thread nut and a standard oil drain plug to do a better job. Just a little welding and you will have a permanant low risk fix.

You can do the same with the B&M drain plug. Just spot weld the nut on the inside of pan and use the nylon washer and plug on the outside.

Thanks Guys,

Dont have a lot of tools (welders and such), My idea was to put it in so I could use location for temp probe. What other place on pan, engine or lines might I install fitting for Temp. probe? I noticed a plug on passanger side of trans but I dont know if I could tap into that area.

Thanks

Trans temp probe goes in the cooler output line, front line on the transmission. Genos has a fitting that will go right into the rubber vibration line.

Probe in the pan gets you cooled readings not the actuals from the TC where the heat is generated. Difference can be as much as 100 degrees depending on conditions. Pan temps react too slowly and will not show spikes.

DO NOT put the probe in the pressure ports on the transmission. Damage to transmission and probe may occur. Temps read the same as pan and do not react fast enough to gauge problems.

With both the port and pan, by the time you are into the danger zone on the gauge your fluid is toast and damage to clutches may already be done. :)
