Has anyone had good success installing a B&M tran. drain plug? If so, where was the location of the plug in the pan? Has the nut on the inside ever come loose?

Any advise with this project would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I installed one on a '65 Plymouth and never had a problem. Also have one installed on my '84 Suburban w/700R4 transmission, no leaks. On my Dodge CTD I installed a B&M that I purchased thru AutoZone. The new Teflon seals they give you never do "tighten" up like the old seals did, but no leaks. The drain plug will turn if you don't use a back up wrench when removing the plug. The instructions make that real clear.

Do it, I drain the transmission pan w/every oil change and refill with about 6-6. 5 quarts of fluid.

Drain Plug

I put one on my transmission . I drilled the hole then put the bolt and nut on tight and welded the nut to the inside and removed the bolt and put the washer on the nut no leaks or problems. Don't have to worry about it comming loose.

I have put in a couple too and they work fine. I installed them as low as possible, horizontal, in a corner. Just make sure you use a wrench to hold the outer part when you loosen the plug so it does not spin as SD recommended above.

All finished

Thanks guys for all your help. I put the plug in the front drivers side corner because it would hit the filter if I put it in the center. Also, the neprene o-ring they give you won't take the torque amount that the directions say. It smashed like it was made out of butter. I had an old metal o-ring from another vehicle that works real well, torqued to 20 ft-lbs.
