Hi guy, has anyone used the B&M trans pan? A friend of my showed me one he had at his shop. It looks very similar to the mag-hytec, adds four more qt’s of fluid and costs 137. 00

I just went through this before I ordered my $169 Mag-Hytec from Woodlawn RV. The B&M pan you are talking about is designed for the 727 right? In a 727 is will hold 4 more quarts but in a 47RE pre 98 it will only hold 2 extra quarts. I'm pretty sure in 98 or 99 DC changed the pan on the 47RE to hold 2 more quarts than the 94's-98's, maybe I'm wrong here, but if that is the case the B&M will not add any extra capacity.

There was one member who installed a TCI 4 quart 727 pan (2 extra quarts for his 47RE) and he was happy with it. IMO for another $40-$45 (with the deal from Woodalwn RV) you can get the Mag-Hytec so that is worth the extra $$$. If Woodlawn wasn't running the special then maybe it would be beneficial to consider the TCI or B&M.

I had a B&M pan on another vehicle years ago. It was a good pan never a problem with it, however I put a MagHytec on my truck recently and they don't even compare. The MagHytec is definetly a higher quality piece imho.
