B&M Transmissin Drain Plug Kit

Has anyone ever used the B&M transmission drain plug kit? Good product or bad? Any fluid leaking problems after the installation on the drain plug?

Have used them before. No trouble with leaks. But it does stick up into pan about 1/2", so it still leaves some fluid in pan. Just put plug back in and keep level while dropping, shouldn't get any spills.

mopardave, good product i put it in when i changed the filter &put on the 95 hot transmission line. no leaks and the next time i drain the fluid no mess. you cant spill the little that remains in the pan when dropping it for a filter change good luck. CFowler

I used the drain plug also. It worked well, but I took a more conservative approach: I only used the bushing that had the 1/8-27 pipe tap and had it welded into the pan. No leaks and it performed well.



I only got to drain it once though, because I had a DTT transmission installed and it came with the MagHytec pan.



Regardless, it worked for me.

Like the others, I installed one after the first change. That was two oil and filter changes ago and no leaks. I did not drill it on the bottom, but on the back side so it couldn't hit anything. I also used some Hi-Tack around the teflon washer (both sides) and torqued it to a few pounds less than the recommendation. I can't remember what that was, something like 18 ft lbs. The directions give you the info. No leaks. I also have one on my street machine and it been on there for 4 years with no leaks. Installed the same way. Worth the effort to do to eliminate the mess.

The first one I installed on a street rod leaked. Weld a 1/2-20 nut to the bottom of the pan and use a standard drain plug (1/2-20) the auto parts places have both parts and it will cost only a couple bucks and you will be able to drain the pan completely.
