[b]OVERHEAD GAUGE WIRING QUESTION [/b]

I Installed Isspro transmission Temp and Boost Gauges into a Gauge Works overhead pod. The Isspro gauges are a tight fit to say the least. I purchased the Isspro wiring extension kit. The instructions that came with the Gage Works pod are a joke. The wiring bundle that comes out of the Isspro Temp

gauge is a total of 8 wires plus the boost gauge consists of 1/8" tubing and

2 wires for the lighting. My question is how do you stuff all of this wiring

bundle (approx. 1/2" dia. ) out of the overhead pod and under the headliner.

I am reluctant to brute force everything under the front of the headliner.

If it were me, I'd probably unbundle the wires so they lie flat between the headliner and the roof.

I still have mine to do and will do like Ryan says, spreading them out should work better than one bundle. On mine I am going to make a common splice (including the boost line) near the pod for all electrical so I can take the entire pod down easily to do any service if needed.

There's enough room. I have 4 guage pod; egt,boost, fuel press, transmission temp; 2 1/8 inch tubes (boost/fuel press), 1 12v+ for lamps, 1 ground, 1 trany temp sensor, and pyro wire( aprox 1/8 in. dia). All fit under head liner ok. The ***** is splicing and tucking the wires/tubes behind the pod. I used 45 deg connecter from back of boost/ fp guage to get better angle for tube exit, both had to loop back before slot to exit pod to fit best. PM me if I can help. Rick

Plenty of room between the headliner and the roof panel, once the overhead console is out of the way, and pillar trim is removed. I have the 3 Isspro gauges in the gaugeworks pod, fits nicely, but I had to trim the leading edge of the pod to get it to tuck tightly up against the edge of the headliner. I did have to forgo the brackets to secure the gauges into the pod, no way to actually use them that I could see, and used a black urethane sealer around the back of the gauge faces to hold them into the pod. I did all this outside of the truck, wired the gauges, glued them into the pod and waited overnight to install into the truck. It was more work crawling around under the dash to tap into ignition and lamp wiring! Good luck!

SMorton, Thanks for the info! I too figured out that the only way to mount Isspro's in the pod is to glue them. I got the Isspro wiring extension with GIANT connectors on each end which will be cut off. I will solder each of the (4) wires and seal them with

shrink tubing which will be more reliable than connectors. Do I just drill a hole in the

top of the pod to route the wires through? Also, is the heavy duty hook and loop

fasteners robust enough and will the adhesive creep or let loose in the hot summer

sun? I guess I've rambled on long enough. Thanks for your help!
