B.U.S.T project up and running again

Well I didn’t survive round one, but now I have some better parts and we will have to see if it survives round two. I went and picked up my pickup last night when I got off work. Started right up and purred like a little kitten.



I was cruising down the highway at 70mph boost read 6psi and the pyro was sitting at about 700*. I was coming up to a little hill so I stabbed the throttle about 1/3 of the way boost shot to about 30-32psi and the pyro started to climb leveling off at about 1000*. It felt so good to be driving it again. I have to wait a week or two so I can re torque the head and then I will see what it does at full throttle. It runs so good.

I ended up with a stage two ported/polished/o-ringed head, ats 3 piece manifold, arp 12mm stud kit. I guess I will have to update my sig.



I also saw pic's of my flanges for my twins and they should be here anytime so Brad and I can get started on my twins. Then I will have some fun. :-laf :-laf

Good deal! Reading that is just like a double shot of #2 - Glad it's working out. I'm hoping I'll have the 'OXX (my rig is named the BLU OXX) up and running for next years' Dyno Day up at PDR - might end up being the debut event, but I have to finish the thing first. Keep up the success stories - helps motivate us out in 'project land'.

Glad to hear you are back on the road. Try to keep your foot out of it untill you get the head re-torqued. When you've been without the truck for a while, that first drive is sure nice.

Final retorque

Runs like a raped ape. 45#'s of boost 0-100mph runs egt's went to 1100* on the first and 1300* on the second run. Even had the guts to hit the water meth and boost went to 47#'s and egts stayed at 1300* I am very pleased with it and am looking forward to my twins to bring the temps down even more. I was seeing around 1500-1600 on full throttle runs. Oh yeah and it pulls strong through 3200+rpm's. Need to find a dyno. The only problem is that every dyno reads different. Might have to wait untill the next first gen event at Piers to find out how much I have gained.
