B&W Hitch Arrived

Got the RVK3600 I had on order from Amazon (Tweety's) for my 2016 Ram 3500 crew cab longbed with the 5th wheel prep. It arrived via UPS in 2 boxes... 1 box for the base and the 2nd box for the hitch plate. The base was packed pretty poorly in a card board box which had been pretty well destroyed when it got to me. But no damage to the base and all the paint looked good. However, the instructions and a bag of mounting hardware was missing. The second box with the hitch plate did have a bag of bolts and the spring clip for attaching the handle to the hitch plate.

I'm thinking my best bet is to go straight to B&W in Kansas to ask them to send me the missing hardware. Just bypass Amazon altogether. What do you think? Kind of crappy that the hitch base was packed so poorly.

I have contacted B&W directly for a different issue and they were very accommodating, that's what I would do. As far the packaging, putting a big hunk of steel in cardboard for shipping isn't a great idea but what else can you do......When I received mine, the box surely had seen better days and was a bit tattered and I only live twenty miles from the warehouse my hitch shipped from. I deal with UPS/Fed ex/freight shipments at work, the handing a package gets on the road can be great to really, really bad.......

I'm sure B&W will make it right.

Went to some online pics and instructions for the RVK3600 and see I'm also missing the triangular-shaped brackets for the hitch plate.

Contact B&W they WILL take care of you!!! Don't blame them for packing the delivery people are very rough on things.

Unless you know something I don't they don't sell to the public. Also everyone has to sell their hitches for the price B&W dictates.

They surely took my check of $10K in 07 when they installed my Elite Flat bed and companion hitch in Kansas. Amazon may have packaged, if it wasn't dropped shipped from B&W. Call B&W, I'm sure they'll take care of it. They sent me a spring clip free of charge, even though it didn't exist when I bought mine. I called them and asked them where I could buy one, they looked up my purchase back in 07 and sent it for free.

Interesting thread. I need to order the 4 puck base since my 2015 has the factory hitch set up. I've looked at etrailer.com and see their customers have the same problem, i.e. packaging destroyed and parts missing. With something that heavy, you'd think they would use more than cardboard. I may just order from a local dealer and have them deal with the damage issues if it arrives in poor condition.

That's probably not a bad way to go as B&W protects it's vendors and doesn't sell to the ebay type discounters. I got mine from SDtrucksprings in New York who usually have their own website discount coupons ($20-$40 usually) and applied them to my purchase. They also drop ship from warehouses all over the country, mine came from a warehouse barely twenty miles from me so it wasn't too beat up when it got here.

Tweety's also drop ships the B&W's. I ordered one on a Friday and it was I'm my house on Monday. That's a long ways from Texas to WA State, Tweety's is located in Texas.

Portland warehouse was used most likely! That is where my stuff came from.
