I believe it will. We just got back from a trip. We towed 1000 miles and soloed about 200 up and down the Allegheny Mts. in PA. Was very pleased with both truck and hitch.

I will have to admit the Companion pucker model below does look well to me. I personally don't like the Companion model that only fits the GN hitch. I would disagree that there are none better. I converted this hitch to pit my pucks and also added additional crossbeam connections.

That is a nice hitch. I don't need bags on my hitch since I have a TrailAir air bag kingpin. So for a hitch without air bags I still say B&W is the best!

I used to think the same thing when I had my air back TrailAir. I now have a much better setup and for those who have not experienced a DemCo and air bag bed hitch you don't know what you are missing. The TrailAir has not way of elimination of surging like the DemCo. The new TrailAirs have added a system copying the DemCo base pin plate. Notice the right bolt holding the shock. (Bent)

My previous 5th wheel had the Demco GlideRide pinbox extension. The current 5th wheel has the TrailAir with the fore/aft compliant loadplate as in the Demco. As far as fore/aft chucking is concerned, I don't notice any difference between the previous Demco and the current TrailAir, but the TrailAir has the advantage of providing compliance for vertical shock loads.

The new 20K rated Companion 5th wheel base is much more substantial than the previous 18K rated Companion base. I upgraded my Companion base to the 20K rated base for the new 5th wheel, and there are many design improvements including a completely new adapter post and bolting arrangement to attach the Companion base to the adapter post. The upgraded Companion works fine with the new 19K GVWR 5th wheel.

Rusty, as I expected. When TrailAir made the addition it would be a great thing.

Yup, you have the 3000. In fact I believe it was you who made the post about them sending the feet to you that prompted me to do the same thing with my 3000. Then later I bought just the 3500 base in effort to move my kingpin further ahead.
Im looking at buying just the base as well for the same reasons, forward and up. but not sure what to do with the old 3000 base?? Any ideas/suggestions? Not sure there would be a market for just a base without the head?? Thinking about pulling the entire hitch on CL and see if I can get a bite of more than the 3500 base costs... What did you do?
