Thought I would share my experience with my B1-2-04. You can see my mods in my signature.
I was only about 40#'s of boost, very similar to AllGoodHaywood, I had the Edge boost elbow installed on my B1. I asked Lenny at DynoMite Diesel Performance about raising the boost, he asked me if I had ever checked the drive pressure. (Keep in mind that an 1:1 ratio between drive pressure and boost is recommended. ) I had never check it and told him so, I let the truck with him to check the drive pressure. When I returned he asked if I had the stock elbow for the turbo, I asked why, he said that my drive pressure was extremely high and I could damage the turbo if I continued to run that high of pressure. It was 65+ and my boost was 40. He explained how I was over driving the turbo and causing excess heat while robbing HP. When I got home I put the stock elbow back in, and my drive pressures went down to 52 and boost stayed at 39-40. Still high but alot better than it was. Lenny told me for every day driving it would be fine, but if I was going to drag race or pull that I should consider having the turbo modified to reduce the drive pressure.
Being that I am not competing I haven't modified the turbo.
Just thought someone might be interested.
