Thinking about one of these turbo's but have some question's.

1. Both bolt on ?

2. Same turbo or very close ?

3. price/who to buy from ?

4. Housing size/pinwheel size

5. how do they compare for spool up, egt reduction,

6. How much power will they support

THANKS GUY'S

Not the same turbo.

Piers, Turbo Auto Diesel (B1's).

BD for the Super B.

12 or 14cm on the Super B and B1 (not for sure).

58mm comp wheel on super B, B1 has at least 62mm comp wheel.

Don't know on super B, but "Floor it" has 659hp out of his B104.

Spool up on the B104 is great.

Depends what HP range you want to be in. The super B will be good into the low 400's and the B1-04 into the low 500's. The super B is $6-700 cheaper. Depends what you want/need.

I have a B1-04 and am very happy with it FWIW.

Is the B1 an exact bolt in so that you can use a turbo mount exhaust brake with it? I believe the super B is not.

Yes. Gypsyman is using a turbo mounted brake with his B1-04. The outlet is 4" with the same flange as the stock turbo, so a brake or the stock exhaust elbow will bolt right up.

Super B can not. The flange is different and it comes with it's own 4" downpipe. Must use a remote mount (in-line) brake.

The Super b is close to a 16cm housing that is about all I could get out of BD they are pretty quiet about the design of the turbo even with Dealers. The super b is the quickest spooling turbo at its level of performance due to the small impeller wheel with extended fin tips but it won't support over 450hp. If you are looking for under that you will be very happy with the single super b and Bd sells a twin kit minus the one turbo for future upgrading.

All B1-04's have the same specs, but they can be ordered with the wastegate disabled. If you look at my pics there is not wastegate on there, but I have one now. I couldn't pass up the deal I got, and the wastegate actuator is cheap anyway. It is VERY important to have a wastegate on these turbos!

I finally got around to ordering my B1-04, ATS Manifold and Turbo Mount Pac-Brake!!! Now if only I can keep the credit card bill away form the wife!!!!! I am also going to order an 05 downpipe to make the exhaust a 4" instead of the 3. 5" I have now. Can't wait to get the new toys and start fitting them together! I will probably paint it all with POR before the install, should be fun once it's done!

Did you order hte correct Pacbrake to work with the 4" downpipe? I hope so or else your new downpipe won't work.

P. S. If you're using POR 20 put a couple coats on it ;)

Thanx for the tip on the POR 20, I'll cover it good! On the PacBrake I ordered the C14045 for the 04. 5 and up truck. The instruction manual said the only difference between that and the C14030 for the 03 trucks was the 4" pipe. I'll be mocking it up on the bench to make sure it goes together before I wrestle it into the truck so that should help. Thanx for looking out!!

Go with the ECM bypass with the Tank... And if you want to How to Hard wire it for Idle warm ups send PM.

If you got the brake for the 04. 5 and newer it should bolt right up to your new downpipe. Good luck with the install.

Pretty sure I ordered the right pieces so I'm hoping to bolt it all together with just a little exhaust work to get rid of all the small pipe. Now just have to wait for delivery!!!

actually the Super B does not come with downpipe anymore it has an adapter so you can use turbo mount brake

I had read that on BD's website about the adapter. What I could not find out was if it was 3. 5" or 4" and how much it moved the brake away from the turbo and if the exhaust would needto be cut to make up the difference. I thought I read a post where one guy had to cut a few inches out of his exhasut to make it all work but can't remember if that was just for the adapter or adapter and brake. Hopefully my setup will be closer to a bolt on with only a little grinding on the brake mount for clearance.

As far as I know, 03-04 trucks have a 3. 5 coupler that connects the turbo to the exhaust system. I raed above you guys said the b1-04 has a 4" outlet. What are you guys with 03-04 trucks doing when you bolt on b1-04's?
