Only coincidence. Several months ago, the classifieds were full of B1's and not 'nary' HTB2 turbo. Wonder why?? All of a sudden very popular?? Probably so. No B1's for sale, popularity drop?? Durable yes. Horsepower maker, ok. But a pain to get parts for and try to get somebody to be accountable for the thing. Opinions are like - well - turbos. Everybody has their own - even me, except I have two turbos.

The B1 has been out a bit longer than the HTB2 but if you look in the classifieds they are filled with used HTB2's (at least the last time I looked) and nary a B1... coincidence?

So what does this prove?

I don't recall trying to PROVE anything, I made a statement and a simply factual one at that. I guess it show's more than a few people are unhappy with their HTB2? Maybe, maybe not, why do you list your old turbo in classifieds? Most B1's I see in sigs these days are in a set of twins. I really don't give 2 chits about what peaple decide to run, I gave my opinion on the B1 and I have nothing bad to say about the HTB2, I just don't agree that the B1 is not all its cracked up to be and poked a little good humor toward Afarmer. If anyone wants to make more of it than that they are barking up the wrong tree.

When I read it the first time I guess I misinterrepted what you were trying to get across.

My point was because something is for sale does not necessarily mean an individual was unhappy with the item (which you obviously understand). Sometimes we cannot seem to find an end to the tinkering looking for the ultimate BPMBs. I know I'm not even close. I have had six different sets of injectors in my truck and I'm saving a few bucks so I can swap them out again soon :)

Well guys I don't know the B-1 has a much bigger exhaust wheel in the same size housing so the exhaust can grab the wheel better to pull out more drive pressure. I just put my buddy's b-1 and mach 4's and my truck today and it has so much more power you woulden't ever imagine. It has great spool up with my 4:10's and excellent top end. As far as which turbo i really don't know but i think that after running this turbo i would run the heck out of this B-1. Plus the B-1 has been proven on many trucks including my own... as far as the HTB2 i haven't realkly heard too much about the but they do LOOK better!

I'm running both. B1-2 and HTB2 62/14-- they're getting swapped today. The HTB2 is a little too noisey for the wife--and since she has firerings and studs--the non-wastegated turbo should be on her truck.

I haven't seen much difference in performance, and hope to never have reliability problems with either.

I do like the extra noise of the HTB2.

hey why dont you try using a PDR Hx-40 ? Should give decent spool and be safe to tow.

The PDR 40 won't be able to be used for towing at that power level. Piers also told me that the 18cm housing will be laggy, over the 16. I need a better/bigger turbo(s) with what I have, to be able to tow much weight.

Toy Hauler magazine writers came by the other day and we put a SPS62/80 on his truck. They met us at the May Madness Dyno Event and put up a 584hp. He believes!
