What do yall think about this turbo?? I don't need a turbo right now but this looks like a good deal. I don't tow much at all (less than 5000lbs). I am a college student so my build is going to be slow, but when I said and done I want to be flirting with 500 hp. Will this turbo keep egts in check with about edm 4's? What downpipe does this turbo use? Thanks guys very much I read and read on this forum for the past months and yall are very helpful!!! Nathan

That is not a B1. It is Switzer based and resembles the HTB2 of High tech turbo but I'm pretty sure it isn't a B1.

I agree with the above statement, the compressor case looks different than the B1's I've seen. And it's defineatly not one of TAD ( Ken Diaz) B1's because all the numbers are not ground off- Maybe it's a BD -Switzer based unit?

No way to tell without more information. It looks very similar to my "killer B2" which will support 500 hp (though it's a little toasty) but it may be as small as an HTBG which is basically built on the same frame and would not do the job. Below is a pic of my turbo next to the stocker. It's very similar in apperance to the one in the add. My sugestion would be to contact the seller and see if you can get some straight info.

Turbo exactly as described. This seller really knows his stuff! highly recommed

This from prior ebay sales. In his ratings area, it looks like he sells turbos, ATS manifolds, studs, etc. You might be able to contact one of the prior buyers and see what the deal is. If it is what he says, that price seems good. Just buy it and let us know :-laf. We're right behind ya...

BD's literature shows their Super B good for 300-425 rwhp. Maybe that's 500 at the crank?

That is no B-1 or HTB2, it is a s300 however, I wouldnt buy it expecting it to support much more than 425-450 horsepower. It looks to have the 58mm compressor wheel, which would make it comparable to the bd super b or our AirWerks s300.

What you are seeing is the white paint thats used when the factory balances a wheel.

The turbo in the auction is not a b1 turbo. It is a S300G turbo from BorgWarner if I remember correctly. I believe that xtremedieselperformance.com sells these with the 4" downpipe and v-clamp included for the same price, shipping included.

I don't know why this discussion has dragged on so long. IT IS A S300G SCHWITZER, WHO IS OWNED BY BORGWARNER! We bought several of them and I have taken pictures of them, you will notice that my pictures and those on ebay are of the same turbo. And there are several shops selling them.
