B100---wow!!!!!!

Bought my first 10 gallons of B100 today from T-Gill Fuels in Pensacola and put it on top of about 15 or so gallons of #2. WOWWWWWWWWW!!!! Never thought a P-pump could be that quiet. Smells like fresh cooking oil heating up. I posted on this topic because of what one of the gentlemen their said. Talking with him about Biodiesel he began to talk about ULSD and how he thought that B20 would "likely" become the main diesel fuel because of it's benefits in reducing chemical emissions, particulates, increasing lubricity, etc. . He said "It's coming... no doubt about it" in reference to the more widespread availablity of Biodiesel in the near future.

Up here in MN every diesel pump has to have 2% biodiesel and I think in the near future it will be 10% and I'm sure it won't be too long after that it will be up to 20%.

Yeah, do you think they could do without some of the smog equipment on '07 enigines if they did?

I don't know, that would be cool if they could. Imagine that, in 2010 they start to take off emission controls on diesel engines because biodiesel burns clean enough. That would be cool

I wish I could find a retailer in W. Ohio that sells B-anything. The closest to me is 45+ miles for B2. If I had a bulk tank, there are several distributors that will deliver. I'd like to see how quiet my P7100 can get.

bought some B100 today and had the privelage of paying 20 cents a gallon more than #2

I think the guys at T-Gill said off road B100 was $2. 17! I saved as much as $. 33 a gallon compared to some of the diesel stations I've seen in the last few days. They said their B100 was from a refinery in Alabama. They go through a rail tank car of it about every 6-9 days!!!!!

First post on the site been reading too much great info to post. Just wanted to pass on some info about B100 you may want to have a extra fuel filter on hand since B100 is a great solvent and will clean out all the guck from Petro diesel. Just have one on hand and swap it out when your quieter truck starts to show signs of the fuel filter clogging.

We've got one tractor that is factory "OK'd" to run on RME in Europe. I figure that's close enough, so that one is running B100. The rest are about B20.



The grain semi (FLD 120 w/Det. 11. 1L) is running about B10, maybe 20 I dunno exactly. I haven't driven it yet, but dad says he can get into high gear almost 1/4 mile sooner than he could before when leaving home. We're figuring it's not that the B100 has so much more power, rather that it super-cleaned the injectors. That truck never has smoked, so we can't tell if that is any better.



Dad gets B100 in the transfer tank in the back of his pickup. His '03 CTD runs on B100 and he uses the tank without a meter... that's why I don't know exactly what the mixture is for the tractors/semi. JD Oil is about 12 miles away and has a 3000gal tank full of bio. $2. 15 for off-road.

The guys at T-Gill were sayin' that while it is true that B100 has less BTU's, it also burns at about 98% or so completion. They also said it should perform better in warmer climates.

I went to the TS Performance Outlaw race in Bowling Green, KY last weekend and put about 15 gallons of B10 in the tank. I think the truck ran better but that may have been due to the road trip. B10 was $2. 93/gal. I bought petro in KY on the way home for $2. 71. I have a hard time justifying $0. 22 extra for B10.



Is bio always more expensive than petro?

Well after much reading, I finally went into T-Gill fuels in Pensacola and put 28. 3 gal of B-99 (according to the ticket) in my 2005 CTD, 2. 69. 9 a gal compared to 2. 85 in town for #2. I guess it seems quieter. I was amazed that there was no foaming during fill up. I've never squeezed in 28gals of #2. I just filled this right up into the neck of the fuel fill. Nice clean fuel!!

The guys ws telling me that they run it in a 55 foot sport fisherman boat and it really cuts down on the black diesel mist all over the transom of the boat. Plus its about 2. 40 something for offroad in boats.
