Steering Column Clunking Found!!

Turbo's covered under 100,000 warranty?

Yep - I'm afraid that the Ram is sick and I can't fix it. The problem started on the way home last night with the Cummins cutting out (dropping to an idle) between 1,000 and 1,500 RMP but would idle fine and run strong over 1,800. This mornings trip to work was worse and the check engine light is now on so we are off for it's first only trip back to a dealer.

Any suggestions on what to check to avoid this fate worse than a root canal:confused:

Wish me luck:(

It's the TPS most likely.

My truck was doing the same thing,, Check engine light, and Only an idle.

I could be cruising along,, didn't matter what RPM and the "go pedal" would become "unfunctional" a couple seconds later,, BADABOOM! It would work perfect.

The TPS is covered under the 100K warranty.

I replaced mine at 74K.

Uh, To quote myself (no pun intended :) )

The TPS is the "Throttle Position Sensor"

Just thought I'd clear that up a bit.

Trottle Pedal Position Sensor

Yep - It was the Trottle Pedal Position Senor (pn: 53031576-AC) and yes it was covered under warranty..... No Questions asked and no new dents, dings or scratches. While there they did a vehicle inspection and found the horn not working so I get to go back when the parts are in.

I have to give a thumbs up to Hershberger Motors in Woodburn OR. for getting me in and fixed up with short notice although I think the mechanic went for a longer than needed ride to diagnose the problem - - Maybe the extras under the hood gave him a thrill:rolleyes:

While there one of the mechanics left in a '96 club cab 4x4 that definitley was not stock and sounded good with the straight pipe.
