Coffee Question.....

Yep. The little 20gr FMJ bullets in the 17HMR are wonders for fur-bearing animals... . the 62AP surplus round works ok, too, but sometimes you miss.....

Was out doing some tracking of my own. Have ambush site set up :D Comes and goes same way each time leaves the cave.

GOING THE SAME WAY EACH TIME WILL GET HIM DEAD Two can play the sneaky game:-laf

BIL asked are you sure you were in the AIR FORCE???

Hey BIG! Get 'em! Cats make great mounts. A good friend from Craig has a lion laying on a rock ledge with his tail drooping over the edge, mounted on his living room wall! VERY NICE! GregH

THE WIFE Told me many many many years ago that there will be NOdisplaying of dead animals or any part of their body (Antlers) in HERhouse

Oh, man, yeah, they're really pretty this time of year. My dad killed a bobcat about 10 years ago, that was so big, they had to custom make a mold for it!! They had to add 1. 5" between the eyes!!! And they had to mount it sitting down, as the . 284 and 168gr SMK blew it all to hell on the out side!!

Another friend of mine killed a superb (TX State Bow record) mountain lion on a Mule Deer hunt out by Elephant Mountain State Park. He was in the right place at the right time!! That mount is full body mounted, walking, just like when he shot it. It looks odd in a room full of sheep and deer!! HA!!!

:-laf Mine told me that, too. Now, there's a 180class Whitetail over me as I sit at her desk and type. I hung it, and when she got mad, I told her when she wanted to buy her own house, I wouldn't hang a single animal anywhere on the walls... ... . Until then, this is MY barn, I just let you live here... . and clean. I almost needed stitches for that. Had to fix the door frame where I ducked, but the deer is still there. Hawaiian Kokobeads, shades, and all.

BIG, Definitely have it skinned out and made into a cape and headgear with claws attached for a Rendezvous;). You would be decked OUT! All ya needs is a . 58 Caliber Hawkin and yer possibles:D! GregH

:-laf:-laf:-laf My Wife has a pretty good fast ball. She asked more that told. We have had an agreement for as long as we have been wed. The inside of the house is HER"S the outside including the garage or shop is MINE. I do have one set of antlers that I have hung. They are on the crapper door on my outhouse by the shop. Im not running to the house 200 yards away to do my bizzz.

Your acting like I have already bagged it nothing is done till its a dead done deal. :-laf Its dam cold at 3AM Greg you want to come lay in the snow at the ambush point untill daybreak:-laf I would like to get it but WHO KNOWS THATS WHY THEY CALL IT HUNTING NOT KILLING :D

Hey PARD!, Your the hunter and the cat dont know he is no longer at the top of pile. The advantage is yours. Determining the time and place is up to you and your skill! If you could just determine the times the cat uses that trail? A game Camera? Observation?
Knowing that most cats are nocturnal may suggest "night-ops":-laf!
I am Game fer that! If you werent so far away, I'd be there! Honestly dont think I would be to good at sneaky peekin', any more! My Heart is there but the body just dont cooperate as well as it did:eek: !
Just dont wash in foo foo juice, before you go out:-laf! About how far do you expect to shoot? A few yards? If the cat winds you, you wont get a shot!
I know you will connect! GOOD Huntin'! GregH

Hey!! The right clothes, laying in the snow's not too bad... . if it's deep enough to actually cover you up. I was up in Kansa one time, and I made cold camp about 15-20 miles North of the house, getting dark with the wind blowing like hell... . I found a little creek bottom with some trees, and staked the horses next to me in some brush under the small cedars, and backed up against a rock kinda under a tree. 'bout midnight the wind laid a little, but we were all freezing our obama's off. About two-three I finally got warm and went to sleep. I woke up after daylight, and kinda was confused. There was something covering the flap on my bedroll... . lifted it up and dumped snow all in my bag with me!!! Snow is a good insulator from the wind!!! I had a good drift on me on the back side of the big rock I was against. Froze my arse off getting to the barn, though. Lucky it didn't snow more, or might have had hell getting the horses home!! Packed out afoot into NorthWestern New Mexico one weekend, too, with a friend, and we took too long out, so we camped in a small gulley off the edge of a cliff. Probably 3 feet deep, but out of the wind. We didn't think we needed a fire, but we were freezing our arses off until the light snow kinda filled in on top of us, shortly after dark. We slept good after that!! Wierd, huh? Dig you a hole in the snow, cover up in a good bag, and wait for the little chicken killer to come by!!!

A good line of sight shot can be had from about 200 yards with a good scope. Just dont want to tear up the hide so head shot is a must. Just has to come to a stop the drop the hammer. I have to get back on it I have been out of town and have had to do some rethinking about some things with the wife. I get back on the cats be hind soon.
