has any body had this problem or know what it might be have a 04. 5 when getting on the highway or from a stop light and acclarate and then let off get a back fire thru the exaust this is in stock mode or box on e/j with att to it to the dealer they told me it was caused by my intake afe and straight pipe combo any help would be greatful thanks

either they are blowing coal up your backside or you are thinking of a turbo bark which in time is very detrimental (sp) to your turbo. Try letting off the go pedal easy and see if it still happens.

hey ja it is defently not a turbo bark i have have tried easing off and will still get it some times it will do it repeatly the odd thing it dont do it all the time thanks

My truck does the same thing (not all the time but often enough) during moderate to heavy acceleration. It will do it while accelerating and when I let off the throttle. It feels like it sputters for a moment then it backfires. Starved for fuel perhaps? No codes appear and the dealer "cannot reproduce customer complaint" (of course).

My truck is pretty much stock (no boxes, etc) other than a drop in air-raid filter and Magnaflow 5" exhaust.

If I ever figure out what causes it I'll let you know!
