Well, I went for a test drive in that '04. 5 2500 CC 600 6sp tonight and all I have to say is dayum! That thing has some power:D My wife was with me and the salesman just tossed us the keys and said have fun. We drove out to the interstate and ran it up into the dreaded vibration zone. She was solid all through the 65 to 75 mph range. I even burped it up to 90mph once and she's so smooth:eek: . I was really impressed with the bottom end and the no throttle starts in 1st and 2nd. 3rd gear starts were easy too. The shift pattern will take a little getting used to. Man, when that turbo spools up it's like getting a kick in the pants. Well, I am headed back tomorrow with my trade to see what they'll give me and see what the bottom line is. Maybe I'll drive her home tomorrowOo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

It's amazing how smooth these things are at 100. My 93 was heavily bombed but I never got it above 90, it just didn't feel stable. I've had my 03 up there a half dozen times (so far) :D

I just couldn't believe how effortless it went up that high. I thought if I got another truck instead of a little 2 seater I'd be safe from speeding tickets. Wrong!! That's going to make my commute fun again. It's a little uphill, but mostly downhill on the way to work so that means I get to listen to that turbo sing for most of the way home, cool:D

A couple of other things that wow'ed me were the steering and the brakes. I guess I am used to the sloppy non-responsive steering of my 1984 Blazer or the '92 Caddy because I was oversteering for the first few minutes. Also, it didn't take a 5 acre field to turn around. The brakes were also real nice. I was zipping down the off-ramp and the light turned at the last second. The brakes brought it to a stop quickly and smoothly. Thanks DC. I asked my wife in the truck, "How am I going to wipe this $#@! eating grin off my face before we get back to the dealer?":D Oh well, no more rambling for now.

So true about the brakes. After driving my new 3500 for a week I drove the Yukon again. I promptly dropped it off to get new brakes. The service guys calls and says "Now why is it that you need new brakes?"

"Uhhh... . i thought they were shot. "

The brakes on this truck on really something.
