After 21 years, nothing in the engine compartment shines [unless I recently cleaned/replaced an item], which is why this protrusion caught my attention. All the pictures that I've found on the web show the 'left hand side' of the p-pump. This is on the 'right', mostly concealed from the normal view. Hence this post. What am I looking at? Should something [like a hose] be attached to it? The truck starts and runs fine.

I "think" it's a pin that something inside pivots on. No idea what it does but I know that nothing mounts on it. Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

It is the other end of the shaft the fuel shut off lever is mounted on. When the seal on mine started leaking oil the entire shaft had to be replaced due to the groove that had worn into it. It is the only repair my pump has needed in 1.3 million miles.
