Hey guys, I picked up a Pac Brake exhaust brake and I noticed that there is a spot to put a sender for a gauge. I am going to assume that this is for a back pressure gauge. Does anyone know who makes a gauge that can measure pressure and still live with the EGTs reaching up to 1600*? Can this be done or am I out in the pasture again? Thanks

Robert

Run a copper tube for about 3 feet then go to plastic, I used an SPA guage that way if I develop a leak, the hot gasses will just spew in the engine compartment and not all over the cab.

As zstroken says, a couple or 3 ft. of small dia. copper tube will allow the heat to disipate. The exhaust doesn't flow through the tube so the heat doesn't get to the gauge. I ran very small copper line directly to thte gauge inside the cab on my '98 and had no problems over nearly 4 years. Good to know just how much pressure you're building in the brake since it can change with carbon build-up, etc.
