Rancho shock bolts wearing out!

HID Installation

Have any TDR members have the Back Rack installed on their pickups. This a product that bolts or fastens to the bed rail to support a tool box and or protect the rear window. I think it looks kinda neat, but I am wondering if it is was a few hundred bucks.

Also adds on the web say it does not require any bolting. If no bolts are necessary, then how does it stay secure?

Thanks . . Dave

I have one and now feel it was money well spent. I bought it online from Best Darn Parts on recommendation from another member, was the best price I could find.

The only drilling you have to do is two holes in each of the front stake pockets from the bed side. There are two pieces that drop into the stake pockets and get bolted through the holes you drill. These are used to fasten the back rack down. It doesn't sound like much but it is actually very solid. If you stand in the bed, grab on and shake it, it don't move.

I didn't buy any of the extra accessories I made my own light brackets and drilled a hole in the middle for my CB antenna.

It looks good, is very solid for tying anything to and is a great place to add lights, antennas or plenty of other ideas. What more could you ask for.

PM me with an email address and I'll send you some pictures, I'd post em here but am still trying to figure out how to do it without shrinking em.

Mike

Edit: Mine was for a '96, maybe for your 02 you won't have to drill.

Can I get any pics of the installation? I have seen them on many Dodges and like how they look. I just don't like drilling the truck.

I like the look of that headache rack. Being Protech it has to be expensive. I like the lights in the corners too.

I made mine, got about $75 in it, and it serves the purpose nicely and looks good . . . I think.
