My 1995 Dodge the headlights are marginal and would like to change them to get much BRIGHTER headlights. I use low beam most of the time as most of us do I would say. So what brand do I look for and where?I remember back In the 60's I had a set of aircraft landing lights that I got somewhere and they were bright. Now I don't want to blind anyone just see who out there. I would want to see there fellows at night.

From experience. You can use silverstars, slight improvement, or add relays so power comes from batt not thru switch. Again, marginal improvement. OR, to git 'r done do the sport light conversion. I did and can finally see. The headlight assy's were $210 and I used a seperate relay setup for the 9004 and 9007 bulbs, 2 setups for stock lights. The connector wiring for the 9007 bulbs has to be changed since the connections are not the same as the 9004, 10 min max to do.

You can shop and search posts for more info and other vendors to get better pricing. Sheet metal behind the stock headlights has to be cut to make room for the 2nd bulb, again no big deal. As setup both bulbs are on for low and high beam, the improved visabliity is night and day. Pun inteneded

Ditto on the Silverstars... not only are they just a slight improvment, they didn't last long for me. 6 months.

I did the "Dodge Sport Headlight" swap out also... couldn't be happier with it.

The surgury on your 95 is worth it.

I did a four relay set up, in otherwords "one relay for each pair of elements" Two pair of low beams and two pair of High beams.

That way if you loose a relay you don't loose much in light. Overkill I suppose, I have six aftermarket relays on my truck for fuel pumps and lights and haven't lost one yet in 4 years/97K miles.

Thanks will study this and do It.

Wish I could see a picture of what you have done but I get the general Idea anyway. Never though of that. I might even put second headlight switch because I don't think the one will hold up. On my 99 I had a lot of trouble with the headlight switch Itself. The wheel for the dash lights when I turn It the gas gauge would quit and the tail lights would go out. Chrysler had change the fuel gauge In the tank several times because the gauge stop working. I found the problem one day and It blew my mind and Chrysler was shock also. Put a new headlight switch In the truck and no more problems. I understand the headlight switch are not to strong anyway. Didn't they have some problems with trailers hookups and the headlight switches?

If you put the headlights on a relay you will be taking most of the load off of the headlight switch. Relays draw almost no power so you shouldn't need to do another switch.

If you install the HD wiring kits with relays, 1 relay for high and 1 for low beam, the headlight switch won't have any big current load. I used 2 kits, 4 relays, and got the kits for 29. 95 each. one is hooked to drivers side batt and controls the 9004 bulbs, the other connects to the passenger side batt and controls the 9007 bulbs in the Sport light assys. It isn't hard to buy the parts and make your own setups, but for the price it wasn't worth my time to DIY. Took less than 30 mins to do both sets. all the time was dressing in wiring.

Kenneth, are the headlamp/marker light assemblies orignial? I had to replace the pass. side due to a deer. Bought a new housing. The new one is MUCH brighter. The lenses aren't as cloudy. Much clearer on the new one. Didn't think they looked all that bad, but set a new one next it, and it is VER obvious.

Just a thought. Got mine for ~$100. Gonna replace the other side as well.
