I am looking for some good back up lights. I seen a truck with back up lights that fit under the trailer hitches and are one-piece construction. Does anyone have picks or links to a good web site? Does anyone have picks of them on there trucks?
Some times I amaze myself!! The lights are tractor utillity lights with air craft spot lights 100w bulbs they throw a long spot light pattern, being that low they shine right under my trailer so the help even with trailer at night.
ProTurbo, I think the ones you are referring to are the WhiteNights, sold by Geno's Garage. I have them and they are excellent and an easy 20 min. install. I'll never go back to just oem backups.
wyosteve ~ Geno's told me because I don't have factory hitch they could not be sure it would work on mine. Moral I guess check with Geno's to make sure they will wokrk. Oh someone here and I don't remmber who cut them in have and spread them apart and mounted. Hope this helps a little. There are some on JCWitney I amlooking at that also includes a relay, etc.
If you have stock 3157 backup bulbs, most do, these 50 watt halogens have worked great for me. Easy install, just trade for the stock bulbs. http://www.jcwhitney.com/item.jhtml?ITEMID=1339
I solved my rear lighting problem by adding 2 - 3x5 - 50watt Agricultural halogen floods to the bottom of my receiver hitch tubing. I bought them and my Deere dealer for about $50. 00.
I wired them to a lighted toggle switch on my dash and now can use them for backing or as work lights. (Lighted so I remember they are on... ..... just incase I forget)
I had found the first one( I didn't want to buy 2 and not like them) at Weaver Auto Parts Liked it so much I had them order one extra for there next stock order I Have also found the 100w aircraft light at Farm & Fleet aka MEN'S MALL, one is a GE and the other is I think a Plillips and they said aircraft spot on box. I ran them off a relay mounted behind right tail light and wired to b/u's only, there is a draw back and that is in city parking lots at night it scares people when night becomes day in there rear view mirorr Seriously I have had people jump as I put it in reverse and they got blasted with light. At least there is NO confusion is to if I am backing up!!
They don't hang down far. Almost two years without any problems. The only time I've had to readjust them was after a red Camero driver stopped about one foot late, tweaking my right side lamp and destroying his bumper, hood, and who-knows-what as he nailed the weight distributing hitch I had in the receiver. The two photos I've attached are actually my son's truck. My install is identical except I used quarter-inch aluminum for brackets instead of the HDPE my son used.
Have the Hella 90601 like THOMAS. They are mounted identically to the picture he posted. They hang about 1" below the edge of the trailer hitch. I haven't hit them yet. I have mine kind of angled to light to the sides too. I also have a marine push pull switch under the tailgate so that I can turn them on when I am work behind the truck.
Left side says" Have You Thanked A Veteran For Your Freedom Today?" Some people don't think about it much, I am not a vet but appreciate there hard work.
Right one says" got freedom?"

P. S. I have pushed my lights up in to hitch only one time so far and that was with trailer on loaded w/seed corn and fertilizer and a deep ditch before field didn't hurt them any.
