Here I am

Backing uphill with equalizer hitch seemed very difficult should I take them off ?

Got a new truck and of course had to take the 27X Prowler TT out for a pull. :p But of course I had to find a campground where the spots were for tents and campers and not for large trailers. Had to back out up hill bout 16% grade for about 200yds. The truck really grunted and I had to put it in 4LO to get out. Should I have put the equalizer bars down? I was thinking afterwards that this may have been the problem cause the truck would have pulled up this hill just fine.

You could have put more weight on the rear tires by removing the equalizer bars but with 4wd it should not be necessary. We just don't have good traction in reverse and uphill makes it worse. bg
