Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) BackSeat of QC

To start off, this is "the wife". I have a quick question about my truck that has been bugging me. What are the loops on the top part of the back seat? I can't seem to find a purpose for them. Once again, I know this may be an ignorant question but I just can't seem to figure it out.

They are suposed to be anchors for child seats. They are easy to remove if you wish but I have never bothered to remove mine. Four bolts takes out the seat and they are just torx bolts, one per anchor.
