 I read in the past that someone converted the dimmly lit crappy back up lights to turn signals. Looking for wiring help to accomplish this. Already got the yellow bulbs and put on a set of aux white lights off the bottom of rear bumper. All help would be appreciated.

I have done this, it was not too tough. I even installed another 4 pin harness and added independent amber turns to the fiver and cargo trailers too. Makes it alot easier to turn in traffic. There are a number of ways to go about doing it, not completely sure how different the 98' wiring is to my '96. I grabbed the leads that feed the front turns, and fed them to a pair of relays and from there fed the rear "backup" lamps. Obviously you have to run the wire back to the OEM backup lamps and use Amber bulbs. I have a reverse "beep" alarm that is triggered through my rev switch, so I did not add the auxillary reverse lamps to this circuit as they can be switched independently so I don't have to leave the truck in gear to get some light. I probably didn't make alot of sense here so PM or email and I can hopefully clarify. If I can't, Email or PM a TDR member named "TYBOL". He got me going in the right direction and Is a heck of good guy- I'm sure he can help more than I:rolleyes: ... ...
